Based in Los Angeles, Amidst My Own is a story of an Indian chauffeur struggling through midlife crisis. Being an unmarried man at the age of 45, and having developed feelings for his Owner's girlfriend Emily, and not able to Convery his feelings due to his inferiority complex and his professional boundaries, Sameer decides to create a parallel reality for himself, wherein he could express his love to emily. Sameer's Owner Logan, a compulsive womanizer, has constantly been cheating on his girlfriend, Emily. Frustrated towards all of this, Sameer starts practicing Lucid dreaming in order to create a parallel reality in which Emily could catch Logan red-handed while cheating with other girls and to express his genuine feelings towards Emily. The film is all about his dream and parallel life journey and whether or not he succeeds to create a world fulfilling his desires.
